VOC is a modern day interpretation of a Punch House inspired by the Dutch East India Company...
...or Vereenigde Oost-Indische Compagnie – (VOC) founded in 1602. The bar combines traditional 17th Century punch recipes with modern techniques to create a menu of cocktails that London hasn’t seen for over 200 years. With late opening hours, a courtyard area, an incredible cigar selection along with a bar menu ideally designed to match the drinks of the forgotten era, VOC is the ideal destination to be transported back to a forgotten era.
Church candles, exposed brickwork and antiquities in every corner create a fantastic drinking setting. The main feature of the bar is the Seven casks suspended from the ceiling containing a selection of barrel aged punches, cocktails and the VOC house blended and aged spiced rum.
VOC was created by Fluid Movement (the team behind Purl Marylebone and The Whistling Shop in Shoreditch), a collective of award winning mixologists and drinks enthusiasts; the drinks they have created are inspired from a bygone era with a modern Interpretation, using seasonal produce and the latest molecular mixology techniques. The punches are served either from the bowl, by the bottle or from the cask with bespoke creations taking influence from Asian herbs and spices commonly traded in the 17th and 18th century.
